SCHOOL DESCRIPTION

Liang Feng High School was formerly known as Liang Feng Academy during the Qing Dynasty under the reign of emperor Guang Xu in 1894. It was in 1997 that Liang Feng was approved to be the first four star high school in Jiangsu province. The school campus was relocated and rebuilt in 2005 and opened in 2006. The campus covers 193 mu (Chinese unit of area) with the building area standing 70,000 square kilometers, a greenery area of 50,000 square meters. Greenery covers 38.6% of the campus making it a beautiful natural environment. The school is well equipped with advanced facilities such as laboratories, art centres, and information centres. The library houses over 80,000 books and over 300 varieties of newspaper and magazines. At present, we have almost 48 classes of over 1900students and 200 faculties. Our school boasts advanced environment in which there is well equipped multimedia, standard tracks, modern report hall, high speed network, advanced library and gym as well as tennis court and swimming pool.   

Our school promotes the core culture of ‘good deeds and rich knowledge. We are striving to shape our school into a research-oriented, modern and informational zed one with international perspective. Besides we are committed to creating a refined campus environment for both teachers and students, thus making us more academic.  

   

FACULTY   

     Liang Feng boasts excellent teachers. Of the 200 teachers, there are 3 professors of high school, 3 special grade teachers, and 11 Suzhou academic and subject leaders, and over 63 emergent teachers. There are 21 teachers with master degree and 22 who are studying for it. In addition, we also have 7 foreign teachers. They are all dedicated to education.  

ACHIEVEMENTS   

Liang Feng has provided an array of talents and elites among whom there are academicians of Academy of Science and engineering, golden medals winner of international physic competition, those who did best in Gaokao and those who have received the prestigious ‘Tsung-Dao Lee Scholarship’. Our students made good performance in aerobics, chorus and soccer, thus building good reputation for school.  

   

SCHOOL CURRICULUM   

We have established an education system which responds to students at different levels and interests. It has three parallel curricula available for high school students: The AHC, The AP and the CNCC.    

1. The AHC(American High School Course) began at Liangfeng for Sophomores since last year. All the students of International Department taking these courses as real American High School.  

2. The AP(Advanced Placement)is offered for Junior students and taught in English. Marks obtained for AP courses are shown on a 4.0 weight scale.  

3. The CNCC(Chinese National Certificate Curriculum) offers a national based curriculum which is primarily taught in Chinese language and which fulfills graduation requirements for the Chinese High School Diploma. We have offered such classes as Math, physics, politics, biology, chemistry, geography and history(as follows).  

MathThe math curriculum can be divided into three parts: algebra, space geometry and probability, and focuses on the application of math into daily uses, which is intended to broaden students’ horizons and cultivate their abilities for innovation.  

PhysicsPhysics textbooks are about the general rules of nature science(Newtons laws of movement and conservation laws) and the study of matter and its motion through space and time, which is meant to sharpen students’ practical skills in science and technology. After learning these lessons, students will have a better understanding of movement, current, and magnetic field.   

PoliticsPolitics curriculum is about the economic history and rules(including currency, consumption ,market economy, investment, etc. ) at home and broad, and help students apply these rules into daily life and take an salutary attitude towards life and money.   

BiologyDetails are given on cells and gene focusing on their nature, structure and how they develop. Emphasis is also paid on ecosystem and how to protect ecological environment.  

ChemistryThis subject attaches importance to materials in the chemistry world and how they are acquired and utilized. Some basics are referred to chemistry reaction and energy conversion as well as the influence of chemistry on life.   

GeographyThis curriculum focuses on natural geography and human geography. The natural geography details the structure of the earth and major resources on it, while human geography emphasizes the rise and development of the city and the relations between human being and nature.    

HistoryThis curriculum includes both Chinese history and world history which mention economy, administration and religion. The comprehensive knowledge is dedicated to helping students understand the evolution of history.  

   

 

INTERNATIOAL PROGRAM   

Laying emphasis on international exchanges and cooperation, Liang Feng has signed agreement of friendly school with international school in Japan, Greenwich University in Britain and Portland High School in Australia. This year we also signed such agreement with Craig High Schoo Students were engaged in summer camp of bridge by Janesville educational board.
